Intelion for Safe City will be present at this year’s Smart City Expo 2024, which will take place from September 25th to 27th in Bogotá, Colombia. This event brings together experts in Smart Cities who will share ideas, knowledge and solutions on how to bring smart and sustainable development to cities and the people and communities that live in them.
Madrid, June 7th 2024. ISID, a technology company focused on AI solutions and platforms for advanced video and audio storage and analysis will be present at this years’ Smartcity Expo 2024 in Bogotá with its Intelion platform for Safe Cities. This year the slogan is “Cities that Care, Cities that Innovate”, and the event aims to position cities as agents of change, combining the quality of life of their citizens with urban innovation. Bogotá is currently experiencing changes in terms of promoting social inclusion, diversity, sustainability and care for its citizens, with the challenges and opportunities the digital transformation and technological innovations present.
Intelion Safe City, an AI platform that helps keeping cities safer
Among the different tracks that will be present at Smart City Expo 2024 in Bogotá, like Emerging Technologies, Energy and Environment and others, Intelion is especially focused on the Safe Cities initiatives that cities around the world are rolling out or have already in place. The multiple challenges that local administrations have to deal with, due to an ever increasing population and population density are particularly important in regards to citizen safety. And this is where ISID’s Intelion Safe City can help local administrations.
Our platform can connect to any VMS the city may already have to concentrate all of the security and traffic camera feeds, and let Intelion do its AI assisted video and audio analytics, monitoring hundreds or thousands of cameras automatically, 24/7. The days where dozens of people sit in a Command Center watching cameras is over, because Intelion can take care of everything, thus freeing up personnel to do higher value work.
After defining the surveillance rules and search parameters, Intelion works without human intervention, looking for number plates, faces, objects or out of the ordinary behaviours. Once something is found, an alert is raised to the responsible parties, so an appropriate action can be taken.

Optimizing human resources
This kind of automation results in personnel savings and an optimized dispatching of the appropriate teams (law enforcement, firefighters, medical, waste collection, etc.) for each case, depending on the current situation. By having all the information on just one screen, better decision can be taken and duplicate efforts, by different city bodies, are avoided completely.
Intelion can also analyze camera recordings backwards in time, should an element of interest appear at some point -like a number plate involved in an accident- to find put where that number plate has appeared in the last hours, with the possibility of reconstructing a backwards path through the city that can lead to the starting point of that vehicle and to its owner.
All of these complex analytics can be put into summary reports for distribution among the involved parties, so everyone has the same and current information, alongside the ongoing alerts when previously set objectives are being located in the different camera feeds, again helping the coordination of efforts in the case of complex or critical situations.
